Twigs bound by brass wire and with plaster insets, individual works (29 selections)

As Wardy finished works in this series, he placed them on a nearby shelf where juxtaposition shows off their individuality and often playful quality. On one occasion, he took a few of them outdoors and put them individually on a boulder to photograph (29) for the sake of comparing or contrasting their compositions within nature.

Wardy made these sculptures while living in Washington State as described in Category 26. Although the property had an abundance of fruit trees, the twigs came from a single tree along one of the small roads to Sequim. Wardy would pull his car over to the side of the road periodically to collect a new batch of fallen twigs.
