Acrylic on canvas board (12 to 15)

The surfaces of these paintings have ridges because a gel was mixed with the acrylic, as in the previous series. The earliest painting of the paintings is number 16, with its somewhat larger forms and greater similarity of colors.

Wardy began this series during the summer of 1985 in a small room that he used as a studio in the Sequim High School in Sequim, Washington, on the northern part of the Olympic Peninsula near the Strait of Juan de Fuca. He continued the series in New York that fall.
